Weather in a box

Windows has the widgets, mac has the widgets…so why can’t the web have the widgets? Here’s a little widget that tells the temperature and keeps you up to date with all the changes. Initially developed on AS2 (Actionscript) platform, later ported to AS3 the weather widget features a number of advantages in today’s changing world. Here are a few:

Advantages:

1) Multi-language support – No longer a problem to include it on your international websites

2) On the fly skinning – change colors with a simple line of code

3) Android & Iphone ready – just compile it for a mobile platform and you’re done!

4) Small footprint -under 100 KB

Disadvantages:

1) Fixed width and height

2) Weather icons are a bit “old fashioned”
